Back to School
Well ... it's the beginning of the semester and tonight I went to my first class in 10 years. Dang, I feel old! You know what I say? Better late than never. I was scared to death. However, when I walked in to class and Pink Floyd was playing, I knew I was at home. Then, when the professor turned on the Doors (The End) at break, that just sealed the deal. Could there be a better professor for me than that? The peace, love, and happines side of me is ecstatic. What a way to calm the "back to school and I'm old" jitters. Something tells me that this is going to be lots of fun!

While You Were Away ...
So, we decided to stay another night in Vegas on our way back to good ol' San Diego. Our intention was to leave early, but you know Vegas, hard to pass up when you are having a good time. We went shopping at the outlets and I just couldn't pull myself away from the Juicy store. Of course, I walked away with nothing, but it was nice to look. Needless to say, we got a late start ... a VERY late start.
Seif drove for about an hour before deciding he was too tired. I ended up driving us to Cali, tired as heck myself, but trying to be nice to my poor husband who I ditched a good majority of the time in Utah. We FINALLY got home, burned out, and having to pee so bad we couldn't hold it. Seif runs to the bathroom and what do you know, it is INFESTED with ants!!!! Now people, when I say infested, I don't mean a little pile of ants on top of some shampoo that spilled, I mean infested as in all over the walls, inside the toilet, on the ceiling, in my sink. etc. I even opened up some purses that I had stored in my cupboard in a box (Louis Vuitton and Gucci nonetheless) and they were all over in my purses!!!!! There literally was a line of ants marching along the wall, up and down the door. We cleaned the apartment from top to bottom before we left, but apparently, there was something in that bathroom that made the ants decide to throw a party while we were gone. So .... we spent the night trying to kill them and vacuuming up their little bodies as they realized it wasn't a party they were attending, but a funeral. I didn't get any pics of the bathroom, I was too disgusted, but this will give you an idea:

They sure do Louis Vuitton proud don't they?

Here's to 2009!
So, as you all know, I have been in Utah visiting for the holidays. I've been spending all of my time with my family because there is just so many of them to see. I decided to escape on New Years, more of that story to come. Ha ha
It's so hard visiting because so many people want to see us and we really have a hard time pleasing everyone with such little time. I hate leaving and feeling that I have upset and hurt anyone. I just want my friends to know that I love them and that if I didn't make it to see you, it wasn't because I didn't want to. My relationships mean more to me than anything and I truly miss and love you ... it's just that my family makes a lot of plans for us when we are here and when we do get away, it's spur of the moment.
Now that I have that off of my chest, let me tell you about New Years. This was one of those nights that if anything could go wrong, it did. It started out like this:
New Years Eve is also my birthday, so I decided to meet up with my friend to go shopping. We had a great time, minus the crowds and ornery shoppers. The plan for the night was to go out with my hubby and our mutual friends from college. Later that night, they decided to dog out, so we ended up with nowhere to go. My friend and her hubby feeling sorry for us, decided to skip First Night to hang out with us. My necklace broke on the way to the restaurant, my shirt got snagged on the door, and the host of the place decided he didn't like us and was going to let everyone eat before us.
After dinner, we decided to go to a bar that we used to go to before we moved to Cali; we didn't want to party, we just wanted some place to go to ring in the new year. It used to be upper class, jazz, and a kick back place to go. NOT SO MUCH ANYMORE. We were frisked before entering and walked in to no joke, gangsters paradise. We tried to make the best of it, but got scared and left. So ... we went to another bar 20 minutes to New Years and it was at capacity. Guess what? We rang in the New Year in the parking lot. Here's a pic of that:

To top off the night, when we got home, we were locked out so we spent a half an hour in the cold waiting for the boys to break in to my friends house. Hey, at least we looked pretty.

Happy New Year!!!!!!! xoxoxoxox
